Dear Friends & Family,
I am honored to share that I have been nominated by the American Heart Association (AHA) as a 2025 Woman of Impact.
From February 7, 2025 – April 10, 2025, I will be raising funds and awareness to support AHA’s efforts to increase advocacy, elevate women-specific health research, and improve quality of care for women’s heart health.
This mission is personal to me for one big reason: Mom.
In 2019, after collapsing on the tennis court, Mom was left by the EMTs (she convinced them that she was “OK”), and then subsequently was made to wait in the emergency room lobby for over 2 hours before she was seen. It turns out that she had had a stroke.
What happened to my mom happens far too often. When it comes to cardiovascular disease (which is the number 1 cause of death for women), women are repeatedly underdiagnosed, undertreated, and left behind.
So, I’ve joined with this campaign to make sure that this lapse in care never happens to any other woman - or any other person, for that matter.
The good news is that Mom has had a near full recovery. But for her - and for all women - we need to do more. Will you join in helping me to make a difference?
