Help Me Save and Change Lives!

I’m proud to be on a team of changemakers making a real impact on the state of women’s health.

Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women. The American Heart Association Go Red for Women movement’s Woman of Impact campaign is working to change that.

My Story: I have personally seen the effects of heart disease in family members and friends: my grandmother had open heart surgery that preserved her life for over a decade and provided opportunities for many more memories together; both of my grandfathers have had life-altering strokes; my mother has experienced tiny stroke symptoms that have given us big scares; a friend of mine is in the thick of navigating cardiovascular challenges that affect her life on a day-to-day basis. It's astounding to me that cardiovascular disease has become so prevalent considering that many cases are preventable.

I am blessed with an exceptionally healthy heart, and I'm grateful for the healthy choices my parents have both instilled in me from a young age. My mission with Go Red for Women is to increase education and awareness about ways to support heart health and prevent cardiovascular disease through healthy habits, including diet, sleep, exercise, and stress management.

Over the next two months, I aim to provide ways for people to engage in healthy activities to promote heart health. Stay tuned for invitations to yoga, sound baths, virtual and in-person walks, runs, and bicycle rides, and even a pickleball tournament.

Also - did you know? Heart disease unfairly targets women, who have been left out of research, testing, treatment and funding. Women have been underrepresented, undertreated, and undercounted. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Because there’s one source of support women can always count on – each other.

Together, we can engage more women in research. We can fight for equitable access to care and treatments. And we can be a catalyst to create health solutions with women’s unique health needs in mind, supporting them through every age, stage, and season of life.

It’s not just about wearing red. It’s not just about sharing heart health facts. It’s about all women connecting and committing to stand together against our greatest health threat.
