As part of this year's American Heart Association Leaders of Impact campaign, I am dedicated to making a lasting impact on the health of our community, and I hope I can count on your support!
As a young stroke survivor, I want to help change the public perception of stroke and raise awareness that it can happen at any age.
Stroke symptoms are not always obvious. Someone may still be able to speak, yet struggle to process information or navigate cognitive challenges that others cannot see. I am especially passionate about highlighting the unique and often overlooked risk factors women face and helping people recognize that stroke can affect anyone.
My stroke changed my life, but it also gave me a purpose. Through storytelling, advocacy, and awareness, I hope to help people better understand both the visible and invisible realities of stroke while inspiring others to see the possibilities of life after stroke.
Cardiovascular disease is still the No. 1 killer in the US and too many people lack access to the resources and information they need to live healthy lives. The American Heart Association is working to change that through research, education, advocacy, and community-based initiatives that advance health and hope for everyone, everywhere.
That's why I'm committed to being a part of this relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives for all. I believe in the power of our community to create meaningful change. Together, we can raise awareness, support lifesaving research, and help more individuals and families affected by heart disease and stroke.
There are two simple ways you can help:
Join my team! We will work together to raise funds and awareness for this vital mission. To join, scroll down to the Team Roster and click the "Join This Team" button.
Make a donation! Click the "Donate to Nominee" button to make a tax-deductible gift in support of the American Heart Association. Fundraising is open from September 17th at 9:00 am until November 4th at 9:00 pm.
Thank you for your support. I am incredibly honored to be a nominee for the 2026 Leaders of Impact campaign.
