Thank you for visiting my page and for all the people who helped make this happen! My name is Katelyn France, and I am beyond honored to be one of the many amazing changemakers supporting the American Heart Association this year as a Woman of Impact!
For those of you who don't know me, I have been involved in the world of science and medicine for a decade now, which is a cool thing to say at 25. I got my start with the AHA in 2020, when I became an EmPOWERED to Serve Scholar. From there, I knew I had found my home with Heart. I would go on to compete in their Business Accelerator Programs, and today, I have the honor of serving nationally as a proud member of the Emerging Leaders Council.
My engagement with the American Heart Association comes from a place of heart as well: my younger brother, my mom, my grandfather, my great-grandmother, and numerous cousins all have heart disease. I am grateful every day for the science and innovation that have been made possible thanks to the support of the AHA.
As the first in my family to earn a doctorate and to get the privilege of working in my rural hometown as a pharmacist, I recognize all of the ways underrepresentation harms everyone. Every day, I fight to prove that just because we are underserved does not make us undeserving. This means getting more women in research studies, in research fields, and having the places and spaces where they can share their authentic stories.
This campaign is about more than fundraising; it's about bringing awareness to the #1 cause of death for women and combating cardiovascular disease at every stage of life. The two best times to take action were years ago and today. Join me in our pursuit of creating health and hope for everyone, everywhere.
