The Heart Walk is the
Buffalo American Heart Association's largest one-day fundraiser event in our
area. We need volunteers to assist during the months of planning and day
of the event.
Planning committee responsibilities include but are not limited to
the following.
Ø
Attend monthly planning meetings.
Ø
Attend the Heart Walk on October 7, 2017 to assist in the
execution of the event.
Ø
Committee chairpersons are responsible for working with other
volunteers on their committee to achieve goals of that committee.
Committees
Include:
q
In-Kind Donations Committee: Secure
donations of needed supplies, food, water. Work with providers and arrange
delivery or pick up of items for the event. Manage Food/Beverage area during
walk.
q
Kids Zone Committee: Secure, plan
and work with vendors. Manage area on the day of the walk.
q
Entertainment Committee: Recruitment
and organization of entertainment for event area and Walk/Run Route
q
Health Expo Committee: Secure health-minded businesses and
non-profit organizations to come to the event and share their information with
our walkers.
q
Community Engagement Committee: Create posters, flyers or other
materials to be placed in the community.
Post event to community boards and calendars.
q
Volunteer Committee: Recruit volunteers for day of event and
pre-event set-up and activities at Coca Cola Field.
