Why I Walk!
I'm proud to let you know that I recently offered to serve as the Chair of the American Heart Association Southern Maine Heart Walk.
Because the statistics are sobering: every 40 seconds, someone suffers a heart attack, while stroke finds a victim every four minutes.
As the leader of Hannaford, I work with teams committed to helping people live healthy lives, both in the ways we go to business and how we support our communities.
My passion for this work is also very personal. I do it in support of associates and friends at Hannaford, like Bob Hatem, Director of Operations, who has suffered, survived and used his experience to raise awareness and funding for this critical work. Caring in the way Bob does inspires me – and others – every day.
As leaders, we have a unique opportunity to show how much we care by bringing energy and awareness to the critical work of the AHA. To that end, I'll be walking in the American Heart Walk in Portland, Maine, on May 20 with dozens of Hannaford associates. And, I am committed to raising much needed funds to advance the work of the AHA.
I'm asking for your help. Your generous gift will go a long way to help the AHA enhance the lives of so many people who, today, face uncertainty.
Your contribution of treasure or time will enhance the lives of the parents, children, and loved ones of the millions of people in our communities who struggle with the impacts of heart disease and related illnesses every day.
Thank you for helping me demonstrate a very important way that Hannaford cares.
Thank you in advance for your support!
