Oliver is Why!
Join me in supporting the American Heart Association!
Every time I look at our little boy, Oliver, I am reminded of what a fighter he is. His strength and determination amazes (and exhausts) me every day. Through detection, diagnosis and repair of his CHD, we are watching Oliver grow up without anything slowing him down, including his heart.
If you take a minute to think about it: just about every single one of us knows someone who had their life impacted by heart disease or stroke. It is more common than we think, which is why I am raising money to support the American Heart Association and their efforts to fund research for heart disease, including congenital heart defects. I am walking in the Southern Maine Heart Walk to do my part to help provide a better, heart-healthy future for the generations to come, including Oliver's.
We are the lucky ones- Oliver will most likely live a normal life with only the scar to remind him of his repaired heart. We are walking to raise money and awareness for all those who aren’t as lucky: all the other heart warriors out there who are fighting every day; for the heart angels who have lost their battles with this senseless condition. Most personal of all we are walking for our heart warrior, Oliver, who makes every day and adventure.
Thank you for your support.
