Meet Joseph Roberto
Joseph Roberto is chairman, president and chief executive officer of PCSB Bank, a $1.4 billion savings bank headquartered in Westchester County, New York a position he has held since 2012. Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, New York, Mr. Roberto’s banking career spans more than 40 years in various financial management and executive positions for other financial institutions. Before joining PCSB Bank, Mr. Roberto began his career at Yonkers Savings and Loan Association and served as chief financial officer until its sale in 2002.
As CEO of one of the lower Hudson Valley’s leading community banks, Mr. Roberto is a strong advocate for supporting various non-profits and community fund raising events. Through his leadership PCSB Bank and its employees, are committed to understanding the needs of the local communities they serve. As an example of total bank-wide involvement, annually in support of the American Heart Association’s Putnam Heart Walk, PCSB Bank participates with over 300 walkers and has raised approximately $400 thousand over the last ten years.
As a further commitment to the communities they serve, the Bank has established a $5.0 million charitable foundation, PCSB Community Foundation, in connection with its recent stock conversion and offering. Mr. Roberto pledges that the charitable foundation will be dedicated completely to community activities and the promotion of charitable causes.
Mr. Roberto is actively involved in various organizations in both Putnam and Westchester Counties, currently serving on the boards of the Putnam Economic Development Committee, as its Chairman, the Putnam Hospital Center Foundation, the Westchester County Association and 2017 Benefit Committee for Volunteer New York.
