Join walkers across the Santa Maria area as they step out to have fun, get inspired, & support a meaningful cause.

Event Schedule:
10:00 am    Festivities & Registration Begins

10:40 am    Opening Ceremonies

11:00 am   5K Walk begins

12:00 pm    Closing Ceremonies

There will be a Bounce House and Costumes are strongly encouraged!

Park Information

Waller County Park Lakeside Terrace is located at the south end of Santa Maria just north of Skyway Drive. From the Orcutt Expressway you may enter the park via Goodwin Road, or by turning onto Waller Lane, and immediately onto Frontage Road. For a map, click here.

How long is the walk?
It is a 5k, 3.1 miles

Can I run the route?
Yes, participants are more than welcome to run the route. We ask that you move to the front of the starting line so that you are ahead of the walkers.

Can I Volunteer?
Yes, we are always looking for volunteers! Please contact Kerstin.caujolle@heart.org for information on volunteering.

Why Walk?

The money raised through the Heart Walk funds research, and initiatives that promote the prevention, treatment and better patient care in the areas of cardiovascular disease, the leading killer in the United States. The American Heart Association is the nation's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke.


Frequently Asked Questions

Are dogs allowed?
Yes, leashed dogs are allowed.

Will food be provided?
There will be a food tent in the festival area for all participants.  

Will water be available?
Yes, there will be a water station along the walk route and within the festival area.

Where are the bathrooms?
Portable restrooms will be available on site.

Are strollers allowed on the path?
Strollers are allowed, but please be advised that the pathway can get very crowded and it may be hard to smoothly navigate a stroller.

What if it rains on the day of the event?
The Heart Walk will go on rain or shine. In the event of severe weather conditions we will notify participants via the website about the status of the event.
