Volunteer Information You Need to Know!
Where to Report for Your Shift:
Nova Southeastern University – in front of the Alvin Sherman Library
3100 SW Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd.
Where to Park:
Exact parking details will be provided as the event gets closer. Varies based on shift.
What to Wear:
Please wear whatever appropriate clothing you will be comfortable in, keeping in mind you will be working outside in the heat. Shorts and t-shirts are fine. For footwear, please wear sneakers or other comfortable closed toed shoes. If you’re volunteering for the actual Walk day, the grass tends to be very wet in the morning, so your shoes will get wet.
We will have volunteer shirts for those working the actual Heart Walk on Sunday.
What About Food?
The American Heart Association will provide you with snacks and water.
What will you be doing during your shift?
Friday, April 20th – 3pm – 5pm
We will need your help with a variety of tasks during Heart Walk Set-up Day. We will need tents set up, signage and banners hung, things organized and other various tasks.
Saturday, April 21st – 1pm – 3pm
We will be doing mostly route set up with signs and final park set up on this day.
Sunday, April 22nd - 5:30am – 12pm (approximate end time)
You will be helping the entire Heart Walk. You will be assigned to a team to help with park set-up, route set up, handing out water, cheering on walkers, clean up, etc. Assignments will be given when you check in that morning.
