Parking Information

  • Paid City of Sacramento lots, including the Capitol Garage at 10th & L, or City Hall Garage on 10th & I.
  • Street parking around the State Capitol- Please be aware of time limits on most meters
  • Walking as a team from your office is heart-healthy and eliminates parking costs!

Where is the walk?
The South Steps of the California State Capitol are on 10th Street, between L and N Street, facing the Tower Bridge.

How long is the walk?
One "loop" around the State Capitol is one mile, so we encourage participants to walk three loops to make it a 3-mile course.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes, leashed dogs are allowed. Please make sure to bring doggy bags and clean up after your pet to help keep our State Capitol pristine.

Will food be provided?
There will be vendors with food samples in the festival area for all participants with light refreshments.

Will water be available?
Yes, there will be a water station in the festival area.

Where are the bathrooms?
Restrooms are located at the event expo site.

Is the event handicap accessible?
Yes, the route is handicap accessible.

What if it rains on the day of the event?
The Heart Walk will go on rain or shine. In the event of severe weather conditions we will notify participants via the website about the status of the event.
