Parking Information
Parking is FREE at Cheney Stadium. Bike racks are also available. Please park in the main parking lot by entering the stadium using the South Tyler Street entrance. Access through the South Tyler Street entrance will be limited during the Walk from 9am-10am due to walkers on the route. Please plan accordingly.

5K Route / 1 Mile Warrior Walk

Both routes will begin in the stadium and enter Clay Huntington Way towards South 19th Street. The 5k route will continute west onto South 19th towards the Scott Pierson Trail. Warrior Walkers will loop at the top of Clay Huntington Way and continute back to the stadium. 5K Walkers will continute on the Scott Pierson Trail to South Tyler Street. From South Tyler Street walkers will continute to Sout 19th Street and back onto Clay Hungtinton Way, finishing back at the stadium.

Saftey For All Walkers

Walker safety is an utmost priority. All walkers will be required to stay on the sidewalks at all times. Stepping off the sidewalks and paths to pass is NOT ALLOWED. Instead, use comments like "on your left" to alert walkers around you that you are passing. Police and volunteers will be monitoring safety and traffic throughout the walk.

The 2017 South Sound Heart and Stroke Walk is an approved Green Event. Walk, bike or carpool to the event. Extra care will be taken to ensure the 2017 South Sound Heart and Stroke Walk is more sustainable by incorporating multiple green initiatives including bike racks, recycling efforts, reducing waste and more.

What is the cost of registration?
Registration is free!

How long is the walk?
The Heart Walk is a 5K or 3.1 mile non competitive walk. Survivors have the option to walk the 1-mile survivor route, in place of the 5k route.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed. Participants will need to keep dogs within the infield and leashed. 

Will water be available?
Yes, there is water at the start and end of the walk route.

Where are the bathrooms?
Restrooms are located in Cheney Stadium. There will be one set of Honey Buckets just before the turnaround point.

Is the event stroller and wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the Heart & Stroke Walk is an event for the whole family! Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. The staduim asks that strollers remain off the grass field and only go around the dirt track.

What if it rains on the day of the event?
The Heart Walk will go on rain or shine. In the event of severe weather conditions we will notify participants via the website about the status of the event.
