The course is new this year. It is a loop that starts and ends in the festival area at 2600 Bishop Ranch. The walk route has been shortened to keep participants on the least busy streets in San Ramon and to minimize how many times participants must cross intersections. The new route is 1.75-miles long and, as always, is a non-competitive, non-timed walk. Click here to download the route map.
There will be complimentary fruit available at the event as well as food for purchase from several food trucks in the festival area. Coffee will also be available.
Walkers who personally raise $1,000 or more prior to the walk will have access to the VIP Tent where they can enjoy a heart-healthy breakfast buffet, chair massages and seating.
There will be a Hydration Station in the festival area where walkers can refill their water bottles. While compostable cups will be available, it is highly recommended that all event attendees bring their own water bottle so that we can keep waste to a minimum and so that you can keep yourself hydrated throughout the duration of the event. In addition, there will be a water stop along the walk route.
Leashed pets are welcome at the San Ramon Heart Walk.
The San Ramon Heart Walk is a family-friendly event. Strollers are welcome on the walk route and in the festival area. The Kids Zone will offer fun activities to keep kids entertained while learning about heart-health.
Portable restrooms will be available in the festival area.
EMTs will be available in the First Aid Tent, which will be located next to the Info/Donation Collection Tent. Additionally, there will be an ambulance on-site in case of emergencies.
Registered walkers who personally raise $100 or more prior to the event will receive a 25th anniversary edition Heart Walk t-shirt. New this year, men's and women's sizes will be offered. Qualifying walkers can pick up their t-shirt the day of the walk from the T-Shirt Tent.
Heart & Stroke Heroes
Heart disease survivors will receive a red cap and stroke survivors will receive a white cap. Caps can be picked up from the Heart & Stroke Survivors booth. In addition, event attendees can honor their Heart Heroes, Stroke Heroes and Remembered Heroes at the Heroes Wall at the event.
