Joey is Why
Why We Walk
Join us as we walk in and fundraise for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk on Saturday, September 15th.
Where: Balboa Park (at the intersection of 6th Ave and Laurel Street)
When: Sep 15th, 2018
Starting from: 6 am - 11am
American National Investments team members are walking in honor of Joey Himmelberg, former ANI Senior Project Manager, who passed away in July 2016 from a sudden heart attack.
Joey was a fun, charismatic San Diego surfer who suffered a severe heart attack at age 48 after completing a 5k run. In the months following, he began visiting a doctor and made changes to engage in a healthier lifestyle. Unfortunately, only a year later, Joey suffered a second heart attack and passed away in his sleep.
Heart disease is not biased and can affect anyone. We encourage everyone to take precautions, make healthy lifestyle choices, and see your healthcare provider early and regularly.
We welcome you to bring your family, friends, and even dogs as we walk to keep the memory of Joey and others who've suffered from heart-related illnesses alive, while also bringing hope to those who need it. Please join our team to raise funds, drive awareness, and unite those suffering, supporting, and surviving together.
Thank you for your support.
