Heart disease isn't just a cause I support. It's personal.
When my husband, Frankie, was diagnosed with severe heart failure, our lives changed. Facing the possibility of losing my husband and the father of our three children was one of the most frightening experiences of my life.
As a wife and mother, I had to find strength during a time filled with uncertainty. There wasn't much time to be afraid because my family needed me.
Today, I'm grateful that Frankie is still here, continuing his journey. Our experience has taught me that every heartbeat is a gift and that no family should have to face heart disease alone.
That's why I'm participating in the American Heart Association's Leaders of Impact campaign. Through Team Frankie, I'm raising funds to support lifesaving research, education, and initiatives that help families like ours.
My fundraising goal is $2,500, and every contribution, no matter the amount, brings us closer.
