Transposition of the Greater Vessles.  What?! Imagine hearing these words conveyed to the heart moms and families on our team. Our heart heroes share this heart defect in common. However, our heart babies were saved because of research and the dynamic minds of medicine at both Children's Hospital St. Louis and Cardinal Glennon Hospital that led to saving their lives. Our babies endured heart surgery and the long road of recovery after. Today each of them, while their journeys were different, some of the path rocky/some of it smooth, are living a happy/healthy life. 

 

Together, our families, the heart moms and heart heroes have bonded. We could NOT have gotten through any of this without the support of other heart moms that prayed, listened, mentored, and sent food, etc before/during/after our heart baby's surgeries. Heart moms are our heros as well. They took tragic times in their lives and found ways to empower our families and for that we are beyond grateful. These women encompass our heart walk team too. Each of them have a story about their heart warriors and that is why I have named our team - Heart Warrior Forces. It's reflective of each of their stories. 

 

It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone - including other kiddos that may be born with Transposition of the Greater Vessels. ​
