Why I'm Fundraising
I am so grateful to be nominated for the American Heart Association’s Teen of Impact campaign this year! Alongside my team I will work to raise awareness and funds that directly go to improving the health of our family, friends, and communities.
When I heard of the campaign I was excited to be a part of making our future brighter and improving the health of our communities. This campaign is close to my heart as my own family has greatly been affected by heart disease. Before I was educated more on heart disease I believed that the majority of the people affected are of the older generations. However, soon I learned that anyone at any age can become a victim of heart disease which is why we are currently working our hardest to make our vision of the future a reality.
Nevertheless, what really drove me to become a part of the cause was the lack of research being done to help women with heart disease which is their number one cause of death. The reality is that one in every three women have some sort of cardiovascular disease, this is over 60 million women in the U.S. alone currently living with the illness. However, majority of the research being done to prevent the rising numbers is based upon men who are biologically completely different from women. This is absolutely unacceptable, and in motive to redress this, we are working our hardest to make a change and improve the lives of women all around.
I believe in a healthier future for all, especially women who deserve a fighting chance at beating this terrible disease. We need to stop the rising numbers and improve the lives of the current generations and the generations to come. Because, no one deserves to become a victim of a cardiovascular disease and no one deserves to be at risk.
But to stop this dreadful disease I need your help. Alone we can’t do much, but together we can change and improve people's health for the better. Future generations should have a world where everyone has a heart healthy life, and together we can ensure that happens. With your support and donations we can:
- Fund groundbreaking research to prevent heart disease from affecting teens and families.
- Educate people on living healthier lives – eating better, staying active, managing stress, and more.
- Ensure everyone gets the healthcare they need.
- Advocate for policies that create healthier communities.
- Teach life-saving skills like CPR.
Together, we can build a healthier future. Click the Donate button to join me!
