We walk for Parker and everyone else impacted by heart disease.  Parker's journey started before he was born when we discovered that he had heart defects.  After birth he was immediately transferred to Nationwide Childrens Hospital NICU and at 9 days old he underwent surgery for a coarctation of his aorta. I will never forget the rollercoaster of emotions that we went through as a family: Fear for our baby's future, happiness for a successful surgery, thankfulness for a group of family & friends that supported, lucky for a baby girl that was too young to understand what was happening but a trooper given the chaos, a cardiologist that has been on the journey from the initial diagnosis to today.

 

Parker's heart journey will be life long and he visits his cardiologist annually to make sure that his heart is operating.  We have no idea what the future holds for Parker but we do know that we have the opportunity to help bring awareness and funds to heart health.
