9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. ?

 

Team Mama's Squeezebox began in support of Erinn's mother, Betty Hagerty, after she suffered a heart attack in 2004. Since then, money raised by the American Heart Association has resulted in important developments in the technology, tools, techniques, and medications used to treat heart disease. Many of these developments helped Betty fight hard and she survived two more heart attacks; however, after bravely progressing, she passed away two weeks after the 2009 Heart Walk. We walk this year in honor of Betty's life and love, and for those like her, including Mary and Greg Marcynyszyn and John Patrick Gallagher, who have sadly lost their struggle against heart disease.
