Colby suffered from a partially ruptured brain aneurysm in November of 2024. Since then, he's endured multiple painful surgeries and tests. Through all of this, he's remained in awe of the teams of folks who not just saved his life, but treated (and continue to) as a human and not just another patient.
Colby is a miracle, here thanks to the quick thinking of the EMTs who first arrived, the fire department volunteers who helped load him, the ED staff who stabilized him, and the incredible team of experts from the Stroke Team.
While he didn't directly suffer cardiac arrest, stroke research and stroke care are addressed in addition to cardiac issues through The Heart Walk.
Our team is walking in support of all heart patients (including those on our team!) and stroke patients (including those on our team!)
please consider either joining our team or helping us reach our fundraising goals!!
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today by joining our team or donating towards our goal. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
