AHA Heart Walk: Together Against Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Youth
Why We Walk
Every step we take at the AHA Heart Walk is a step toward protecting young hearts. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death on school campuses and a top cause of death in youth athletes. It often strikes without warning — but not without hope.
A Unified Effort to Save Lives
The American Heart Association (AHA) is works alongside Project ADAM to create safer schools and communities. Together, we are building a network of advocacy, education, and preparedness aimed at preventing tragedy before it strikes.
This collaboration supports lifesaving initiatives such as:
-
Implementing cardiac emergency response plans (CERPs) in schools
-
❤ Expanding CPR and AED training for staff and students
-
Advocating for state and national legislation that prioritizes heart safety
-
⚡ Helping schools achieve Heart Safe designation through Project ADAM
By aligning efforts, the AHA and Project ADAM are empowering schools to be ready to respond when every second matters.
Walking With Purpose
When you join the Heart Walk, you're helping advance these critical efforts. Your support fuels training, advocacy, and education — and gives students across the country a better chance at survival if SCA strikes.
Together, with partners like Project ADAM, we walk for stronger hearts, smarter schools, and a future where no child is lost to sudden cardiac arrest.
