I was 15 years old when I had my first stroke.
Diagnosed with kidney disease at 10.
High blood pressure by 13.
Three strokes later at 33… I’m still standing.
This isn’t rare.
Black women are 60% more likely to have high blood pressure and are more likely to suffer strokes at younger ages—but too often, our symptoms are ignored, misdiagnosed, or brushed off.
In October 2024, I survived a hemorrhagic stroke—my third. It shook my world, but not my spirit. I’ve spent the last 8 months rebuilding my body, my life, my confidence and faith.
This walk is personal for me. It's a celebration for me, my children and team.
It’s about survival.
It’s about visibility.
I created Team Marjani to raise awareness, show love to other survivors, and honor those we’ve lost. It’s about raising awareness and funding for the research, access, and action that can save lives—especially for young women like me who were never supposed to “fit the profile.”
If my story resonates with you or a loved one you love dearly—if you’ve ever faced a battle you didn’t think you’d win—I invite you to walk with me.
Every donation matters. Every step matters. Thank you for supporting me and standing for the ones who can’t. ❤
