Nicky's Story, On April 14th 2025 our world was turned upside down. My 16 year old son had a seizure while getting ready for bed. Never before did we have any health problem, other than asthma. We were rushed to ER, Then transported to Akron Children's Hospital where they did every test imaginable on my incredibly brave son. It had been determined they found an Anyurism on the left ventricle at the septum of his heart. Devistation came first, then what do we do? Children's had not seen this before as this was the 1st case of is kind in the world. It was expressed they were not comfortable performing the surgery. So, with my Father who worked as a Cardic FRN for 35 years ( 21 at Cleveland Clinc and 10 years at Ohio State University) reached out to all of his collegues and friends at Cleveland Clinic to get assistant on them taking my son's case. We did get confirmation Dr. Hani excepted our case and we were transported to Cleveland Clinic for open heart surgery. Nicks surgery was on 4/24/25. The surgical Team and staff were incredible and the surgery was a success. THEY SAVED MY SON'S LIFE❤ Nick still has a disrythm condition and will now need a heart monitor implant. We know we have challenges to face along the way and life changes, but we so incredibly grateful to all the Doctors, nurses, and staff at Akron Children's Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic for all the incredible care❤
