Almost everyone of us knows someone who has been affected by stroke and heart disease, and some of you like me have family, grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters. I too have had a number of family members who have been challenged by various heart and stroke difficulties. However, at Thanksgiving 2020 this became even more personal for my wife and I and our son and daughter in-law when we learned our grandson would be born with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrom) and would require open heart surgery within about 48 hours of birth.
The little boy pictured above has half a heart and tomorrow, April 30th, 2024 will undergo his third open heart surgery at the age of three. Thanks to the innovation of researchers, skilled surgeons, doctors and many medical professionals, so many prayers and the grace of God our Heart Warrior, Carter will be another miracle child.
The American Heart and Stoke Associatoin helps fund the research and innovation that allowed our grandson to live and we pray to have a wonderful life ahead. Now is our chance to make a difference! I am riding with my CLA Team at the 2024 CycleNation event and we need your help to make an impact in our community, our nation and the world. Join me by supporting the life-saving mission of the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association and become a champion of groundbreaking research, helping people live healthier, and saving lives!
Thank you in advance for supporting me with a donation today. Together, we have the power to stop the cycle of stroke and heart disease!
