Did you know that the American Stroke Association is an affiliate of the AHA? There was a day in our history that if you had a stroke and survived, you were put in a home to live with your disability for the rest of your life. Now if people get to the right hospital, get the right treatment people have clots busted by TPA. They have them removed by a thrombectomy and live a normal life.
Sadly, stroke is still the #5 killer and #1 disabler in our nation. I cycle to spread the FAST message of stroke symptoms since it is extermely important to reocgnize a stroke ASAP.
