The Mission of the AHA is very near and dear to my heart. The importance of spreading awareness surrounding stroke and cardiac disease was instilled in me at a young age, having lost several loved ones to heart disease and having witnessed my own mother dedicate herself to the cause. My mom is my heart-health superhero and has devoted her professional life to cardiac research and care. In addition to serving others through her profession and non-profit involvement, she is a walking example of perseverance in the face of her own cardiac challenges. She inspires me every day!
