Five years ago, my life changed forever.
On September 4, 2020, I had a stroke while I was in Denver. I spent nearly a month in the hospital and have spent the past five years working hard to reclaim my life—through physical, occupational, and speech therapy. It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve never given up.
This September 4, on the five-year anniversary of my walking out of the hospital/acute rehab I’m coming back to Denver—not as a patient, but as a survivor, a champion, and a rider.
I’m joining my team at CycleNation to raise awareness and funds for the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association—because stroke and heart disease impact too many of us. They’ve taken too many lives, altered too many futures, and touched too many families, including mine.
I ride for the me who had to learn how to walk again. I ride for the people who are still in hospital beds. I ride for every survivor still fighting. And I ride for the future—one with more research, more prevention, and more recovery stories like mine.
Please support me with a donation today. Your generosity fuels life-saving research and programs that help people live longer, healthier lives.
With gratitude,
Tania
