We <3 Curtiss
I truly hate running, but I love my brother Curtiss.
On October 13, 1979, my brother Curtiss was born. He may have been born after me but he was always my big brother. He was a nurturer and a protector. He was the kind of guy who always answered his phone if you called. He would drive 6 hours to show up to loved one's birthday parties for a few hours, just to drive back to go to work.
He was a role model man… not because his life was perfect, but because he prioritized the people he loved. He told us everyday that he loved us and we told him the same. The most important thing to him was family, followed very closely by respect.
Nothing is big enough to hold the words that I could write about our relationship. The same is true about how much I miss him.
It has been just over a year since we lost him to heart attack complications, and in honor of my brother Curtiss, I am running the longest I ever have in my life. The goal is to run my first ever half marathon on 2/6. I'll be joined by another brother Marcus Goldhaber.
13.10 miles in honor of the day Curtiss was born 10.13.
Join me in honoring a great man. Make your heart strong!
Prioritize something from the list or create your own:
-Take 10 minutes and 13 seconds a day to tell someone you love them and why
-Take a 10 minute 13 second walk around your block
-Write 10 notes to send within 13 days to people you keep meaning to
-Donate $10.13 toward my goal of $1,013 for the American Heart Association
Thank you all for sharing your hearts and love.
