I’m proud to represent the DMV in the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women, Woman of Impact campaign. This nomination is about empowering women everywhere, especially here in the district, with the tools they need to live healthier lives.
Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. It claims more lives than all forms of cancer combined, yet only 44% of women know it's their greatest health threat. That’s a third of our mothers, sisters, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. It’s a third of the women we love—the ones we can’t bear to live without.
Through this campaign, my mission is to empower the women in my life, in my community, to own their health—to know their risks, understand their numbers, and take the necessary steps to protect their hearts.
I’m proud to support Go Red for Women’s mission, which is working to save lives by:
🔬 Fund Life-Saving Research: Closing the gap in medical studies so women are better represented.
📊 Empower Women to Know Their Numbers: Understanding blood pressure, cholesterol, and more is key to prevention.
💔 Bridge Gaps in Care: Advocating for equitable access to treatment and better outcomes for women. I’ve seen the power of women coming together to support one another.
Here in the DMV, I know we can make a real difference by building a community where women are empowered to prioritize their health and live longer, healthier lives. Together, we can raise money that’ll save lives.

Because losing even one woman to cardiovascular disease is one too many.
