Why We're Fundraising

As a STEM Goes Red mentors, we not only share our experience and insight, inspiring the next generation, but have the opportunity to make an even greater impact by participating in Mentors with Heart. Beyond investing in the students, we raise funds to support the life-saving mission of the American Heart Association and to help provide scholarships to STEM Goes Red students, further supporting their career goals and aspirations.

Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, small business and moms everywhere know what we know: we need a new generation of female scientists, doctors, inventors and changemakers to secure their future, as well as our own.

That’s why the American Heart Association is working to involve more young women in STEM through STEM Goes Red. The program draws from the Association’s strong legacy of science, education and discovery to help propel young women into rewarding careers in STEM.

STEM Goes Red brings interesting careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life for young women by giving them access to leading employers and experts and an insider look at what they do.

STEM Goes Red attendees will gain first-hand experience, connect with professionals at all career stages, learn about jobs they never knew they could have, and walk away feeling like a whole new world of STEM has been revealed—a world in which they can truly love what they do and make a tremendous impact.

We must invest in the next generation of young women innovators who will develop the research, technology and solutions for the next generations challenges in fighting heart disease and ensure health equity in our communities. That’s why our team of mentors is committed to making a lasting impact by helping the brilliant young women leaders of tomorrow uncover their potential and find their path today.
