Watch me change history. Watch me be counted. Watch me Go Red.
What an honor to be a nominee for the Northern NJ Woman of Impact!
I was nominated because, since my heart attack in August 2018, I've had an unwavering commitment to live a healthy lifestyle and fight my heart disease.
On April 9, 2018, which was my late mother Joan's birthday, I started Glamorous at Heart. She passed away after a massive stroke at 77 and I wanted to honor her memory by creating a space to share health & wellness information with women 50 and over. I frequently post about my personal journey and the lifestyle changes that needed to happen AFTER my heart attack. I was ecstatic when I learned the American Heart Association NJ had been watching my progress and could see I was making an IMPACT to create awareness and educate women about heart disease. I've come full circle in my desire to help women advocate for their own heart health and take better care of themselves!
The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Woman of Impact campaign
begins March 1 and runs through April 30, 2021, and my personal campaign is focused on creating awareness and self-advocacy through EDUCATION: I've produced a series of compelling educational interviews, each 30 minutes long, that cover heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, nutrition, fitness/wellness, and a candid conversation with a cardiologist!
This campaign is important to me because I know some of the millions of women affected by heart disease and stroke (you might too), and it matters to me to make a difference and do something about it! Your donation may help bridge the gap in research funding for women's heart health. Or it may put scientific advances in doctors’ hands. Heart disease is the No.1 killer of women. When you donate, you are saving lives!
I hope I can count on you to support my fundraising efforts and the great work of the American Heart Association!
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
