I’m proud to be on a team of changemakers making a real impact on the state of women’s health! Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women. The American Heart Association Go Red for Women movement’s Woman of Impact campaign is working to change that. We’re raising much-needed funds for Go Red for Women and working to improve the health of our communities - to ensure every woman has an equitable opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
This challenge is personally important to me because I’ve seen the devastating effects heart disease has on the women we love. I lost my grandmother to heart disease, I have experienced heart diseas problems and other friends. Currently, I am on the team supporting my great friend Deliah Hamptom in her fight against heart disease after 2 heart attacks. Now I am fighting back against women’s greatest health threat. Why? Because losing even one woman is too many.
We are fighting for better representation in medical research. Fighting for equitable access to care and treatments. Fighting to spread lifesaving information to our sisters.
It’s not just about wearing red. It’s not just about sharing heart health facts. It’s about all of us making a commitment to stand together with Go Red for Women in the fight for heart-health equality.
