As a nurse for nearly two decades, I have cared for many patients and seen firsthand how devastating heart disease can be, especially for women. It's not just something I've encountered professionally; it's something that has impacted my own family. I've watched multiple family members navigate heart disease, which has only deepened my commitment to this cause.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women, yet women continue to be underrepresented and under treated in research and care. Go Red for Women is changing that by advocating for better research, equitable access to care & support for women at every age and stage of life.
I'm also doing this in honor of my Mom. A woman who had a deep passion for women's health and service. She showed me what it means to lead with compassion, to advocate fiercely, and to care for others wholeheartedly. My servant heart was shaped by hers, and continuing this work is one way I honor her legacy.
This is more than just wearing red. It's about women standing together to protect our greatest asset... our hearts.
