Hello I am Leonardo Oliveira
I’m honored to be nominated as the Tampa Bay Teen of Impact. I am deeply passionate about nutrition because I’ve seen how closely it’s tied to long-term health, access, and prevention. As a Borlaug Scholar, I’ve studied the role nutrition plays in building healthier communities and reducing preventable disease; especially in populations where access to quality food and education is limited.
That perspective is reinforced at home. My dad is a cardiologist and my mom is a cardiac nurse, so I’ve grown up understanding heart disease not just as a medical issue, but as something deeply connected to lifestyle, education, and early prevention. Nutrition sits at the center of all of that.
That’s why I’m participating in the American Heart Association’s Teen of Impact campaign. This initiative supports critical research, nutrition education, and community programs that work to prevent heart disease and stroke before treatment is ever needed.
Every donation helps advance research, expand access to nutrition education, and support families affected by cardiovascular disease. Thank you for supporting this mission and helping turn prevention into impact.
