Last summer, my incredible wife had a truly life changing experience... She was born with a defect in her heart that caused a condition known as Aortic Stenosis, and we knew eventually this condition would worsen and require a "fix". Last year she began to experience some troubling symptoms that she thankfully didn't ignore. After being dismissed by some providers, she did not accept those decisions and continued to advocate for herself. Her long time Cardiologist agreed, and said it is time to fix your heart.
In June, we ventured across the state to the University of Miami Medical Center where she underwent a full Aortic valve replacement. After a week in a Miami hospital and many months of recovery, she is doing amazing!!
Even being as private as we are, her story drew the attention of the local representatives of the American Heart Association and they were persistent in convincing her to be selected as one of their Women of Impact for 2026.
This campaign is a true step outside of our comfort zone, but we are very passionate to create awareness and education to as many people as we can. As Tara continually says, "If I can save just one life, this is all worth it."
Today, we start 9 weeks of awareness and education, and yes, fundraising. We are asking for your support, but that support can come in many ways. We will post about a series of opportunities and events in the next 9 weeks and we would love your support!
Please take a moment to check out our campaign, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me through Messenger. Thank you so much, and for these next 9 weeks Red Means Go!
