This year, my amazing friend Tara has been nominated as a 2026 Woman of Impact for South Florida. I am proud to be part of her team and work to raise awareness on the impact of cardiovascular disease on women.
Heart disease unfairly targets women, who have been left out of research, testing, treatment and funding. Women have been underrepresented, undertreated and undercounted. But it doesn't have to be this way. Together we can advocate to change this.
Tara’s story: Last year, after battling symptoms of Aortic Stenosis since birth, she underwent full Aortic Valve Replacement. Tara’s bravery and strength throughout her diagnosis, treatment and recovery has been inspirational. Her choosing to share her story to encourage and support others is an act of courage and compassion.
