I didn’t plan to become a heart health advocate, but that changed when I had my first heart attack at age 40. I nearly died due to lack of awareness, in the medical community, of the type of heart attack I had.
Before my first heart attack, I had never heard of SCAD.
Most people haven’t.
That’s the problem.
Awareness drives research.
Research drives survival.
Women have been left out of research, testing, treatment and funding. Women have been underrepresented, under treated and undercounted.
