I am honored to dedicate my Go Red for Women work to Heather, an 8-year Sudden Cardiac Arrest survivor who is a true inspiration and an absolute go-getter. Heather’s strength, determination, and refusal to let her diagnosis define her continue to motivate everyone around her. She shows us what’s possible when courage meets purpose—and why advocacy for women’s heart health matters so much.
I also proudly carry this work in memory of my dear, sweet former student, Kirbie, who lost her life at a young age due to cardiac issues. In her early high school years, Kirbie was a Go Red for Women nominee- she showed compassion, leadership, and a deep care for others. She is dearly missed, and her memory has left a lasting impression.
Both of their stories are powerful reminders of what’s at stake—and what’s possible. Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women. This campaign is working to change that.
Heart disease has unfairly targeted women for far too long. Women have been underrepresented in research, undertreated in care, and undercounted in outcomes. But it doesn’t have to stay this way—because one thing women can always count on is each other.
Together, we can:
- Engage more women in research
- Advocate for equitable access to care and treatment
- Create health solutions that reflect women’s unique needs—through every age, stage, and season of life
This is more than about wearing red. It’s more than sharing heart health facts. It’s about connection, commitment, and standing together.
I’m proud to be on a team of changemakers making a real impact on women’s health—and I invite you to stand with me. ❤ Are you with me? To support my campaign, click the Donate button.
