I'm excited to be nominated for the Woman of Impact campaign, supporting the American Heart Association. As part of this year's nationwide class of changemakers, I will be raising much-needed funds for Project Adam that supports community sites with training and equipment for first response and Heart Safe certification. The first response in a sudden cardiac arrest is crucial to increase chance of survival. Imagine a child collapsing at school or at a sports event and needing CPR or an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Project Adam can help prepare any community site with this needed preparation with your help!
Why this matters to me:
My son required critical care at birth in the NICU at University of Kentucky. We were surprised after birth to learn that he had congenital heart disease. Since this time, we have been thoughtful about what would happen if he had trouble at school or on the field. Project Adam helps schools, sports events, and community organizations develop effective emergency response plans and provides the equipment needed to save lives.
Please help me save people's lives!
CPR and AEDs in the community are crucial!
