The American Heart Association found that every 40 seconds, someone in the US suffers a heart attack. The reality and seriousness of cardiovascular disease has been something I’ve dealt with growing up. My grandfather passed away due to a heart attack, my aunt was born with heart defects that have led to her having serious health issues, and I was born with a heat murmur.
