My cousin, Clarke Jenkins, has been selected to be an American Heart Association Teen of Impact. Although she is only a teen, she has been fundraising for the American Heart Association and participating in Houston 5k walks for many years.
I’m proud to be on her team of changemakers making a real impact on the health and well-being of our community. Cardiovascular disease is our nation’s greatest health threat – and can affect anyone at any age. The American Heart Association’s Teen of Impact campaign is working to change that to ensure everyone has an equitable opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
Whether it’s funding the latest groundbreaking research or pioneering technologies that help save more lives, advocating for legislative policies that create heart-smart communities, or ensuring everyone has access to healthcare, nutritious foods, or safe places to get active - the American Heart Association is truly at the forefront when it comes to improving health for all.
