Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among women, and yet so many of us don’t realize we’re at risk until it’s too late. I am raising funds for the American Heart Association’s Women of Impact campaign because this cause has touched my life in deeply personal ways—and because it affects all women.
When I was just six years old, I lost my grandmother to a heart attack. She was my favorite person, and her passing shaped my understanding of how serious cardiovascular disease truly is. Years later, my aunt was diagnosed with heart disease, bringing this reality full circle and reminding me that heart health is not just a statistic—it’s family, legacy, and life.
While cardiovascular disease affects women of every background, women—especially Black women—often experience delayed diagnoses, overlooked symptoms, and limited access to preventative care. These disparities increase risks and lead to outcomes that can be prevented with education, awareness, and early intervention.
Through this campaign, I am committed to raising awareness about cardiovascular health, advocating for better outcomes for women, and supporting research and education that save lives. Every dollar raised helps fund critical programs, research, and resources that empower women to take control of their heart health.
This mission is bigger than me. It’s about protecting mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends—all women—and ensuring we have the knowledge and care we deserve.
Thank you for standing with me and supporting the fight against cardiovascular disease. Your donation truly makes a difference.
