Heart disease is the #1 killer of women...and most of us don't even know our risk.
When I learned that, it hit me hard.
Those of you who know me well know I've spent 20+ years building a career in venture investing and corporate strategy. I understand risk. I understand capital allocation. I understand what happens when something critical is underfunded and overlooked.
For decades, women’s heart health has been exactly that - under-researched, underdiagnosed, and underfunded.
That’s not acceptable.
I’m proud to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement as part of the Woman of Impact campaign, alongside my friend and mentor, Melissa Evers (https://lnkd.in/gUjiDXGN), who is a Woman of Impact nominee this year. Melissa challenged me to use my voice here - so here goes.
I’ve built my career connecting people, identifying opportunities, and investing in things that create long-term value. This campaign is no different.
Except the return here is measured in lives.
Through my work in the Portland community - PDX Connections, Keiretsu Forum, TiE Oregon, and nonprofit boards like Big Brothers Big Sisters - I’ve seen what’s possible when a community mobilizes around something that matters.
This matters.
Here's how you can help:
- Make a donation (any amount makes a difference)
- Share this page with a woman you care about
- Wear red and start the conversation
We move capital every day toward things that generate financial returns. Let’s move it toward something that generates life.
Are you with me?
