Welcome to my Women of Impact Donation Page! I’m proud to be part of a team of changemakers making a real impact in and around my community of Temecula, CA.
On September 15th, 2022 at 10:34am, I died.
I was 38 years old, with no prior health problems. I played sports and was active all my life, yet my heart unexpectedly stopped beating. I went into cardiac arrest. I did not have a heart attack.
Many people know the difference, but some may not. The American Heart Association states, “A heart attack occurs when the blood flow to the heart is stopped. A heart attack is a circulation problem. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart malfunctions and stops beating unexpectedly. Cardiac arrest is an electrical problem.”
I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the quick start of CPR & an AED.
Woman of Impact campaign is working to change that. We’re raising much-needed funds for Go Red for Women and working to improve the health of our communities - to ensure every woman has an equitable opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
This challenge is personally significant to me because I am a survivor of cardiac arrest.
It’s not just about sharing heart health facts or prevention strategies. It’s about all of us making a commitment to take action when someone needs help.
Heroes are just ordinary people who know what to do. You never know when the first responder is going to be you.
