It Takes a Village. Michela Semenza Poynter & Lucas Semenza are teaming Up to Fight Heart Disease.
Our Grandmother, Mimi, often used the saying, It Takes a Village. That is why Lucas and I have teamed up to participate in the American Heart Associations, Leaders of Impact Campaign.
Our Grandfather, Pop Pop, passed away suddenly, in 2004, from a massive heart attack just a few months before Lucas was born. Sadly, heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death in the United States, we need to change that!
Today, you have an opportunity to support our efforts to help fund innovative research and bold initiatives of the American Heart Association that save and improve lives. In doing so, you will also be supporting the AHA Heart Ball which will take place in February and will be honoring our Father, Peter Semenza, with The Don LedDuke Heart Hero Award. This award recognizes individuals who have made a difference in healthcare, especially heart health, which my Dad has been an advocate for at St. Peters Hospital for nearly three decades. Moreover, it also recognizes his involvement with AHA for the past ten years and his nearly twenty years as a Firefighter and First Responder for the Halfmoon Fire Department. We are still trying to figure out where he finds the time for all of his priorities.
Please consider joining us in making a real impact and recognizing our Dads amazing commitment to our community by making a charitable gift today. Fundraising for this special appeal is ONLY open until November 5th. So please, make your gift today.
Thank you for your consideration and we wish you a peaceful Thanksgiving.
Michela and Lucas
