Heart health is deeply personal to me.
Nearly everyone in my family has been affected in some way. Just last year my dad learned that all four of his major coronary arteries were severely blocked and is still working through recovery. My mom has open heart surgery as a child. I've personally dealt with high blood pressure and irregular heart rhythms.
This cause has also been part of my life for a while … I served on the board of Military Hearts Matter, founded by my dear friend Holly, helping raise awareness about heart health in the military community and encouraging service members and their families to get the screenings and care they needed.
This year I'm supporting the American Heart Association, the Richmond Heart Ball, and my friend Matt with a personal goal I've set of $5,000.
IA donation of any size can help support research, education, prevention, and healthier futures for families like mine and so many others.
Heart health is personal to me. Community engagement is personal to me. And I'm grateful for the opportunity to bring the two together.
Thank you for helping me reach my goal.
