As part of this year's American Heart Association Leaders of Impact campaign, I'm dedicated to making a lasting impact on the health of our community, and I hope I can count on your support.
In 2016, I suffered a serious neck and head injury in a diving accident that changed the course of my life. Recovery taught me something I didn't expect: that the people who push hardest for others are usually the last ones to take care of themselves. That lesson became the foundation for HatchPath, the coaching platform I built to help people invest in their own wellbeing before crisis forces the issue.
Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer in the US, and it doesn't discriminate. Millions of people face a higher risk simply because they lack access to healthy food, clean air, quality education, or safe housing. As a husband and father of two boys, I think about that risk every single day, not just for my family, but for the families in our community who don't have the resources to fight back.
The American Heart Association is one of the few organizations actually doing something about it: removing barriers to health through community work, funding real scientific research, and advocating for policies that give people a fighting chance.
That's why I'm stepping up as a Leader of Impact, and why I'm asking you to stand with me. I've built my career around the belief that real change happens when people get the support they need before it's too late. Heart disease is preventable more often than people realize, and every dollar we raise gets us closer to a world where fewer families have to face it.
There are two simple ways you can help me save lives right now.
