Participating in Leaders of Impact is personally important to me, as many of our dear friends have children with congenital heart defects and it is crucial to continue to advance research so that they and so many others can live long, healthy and normal lives. I've joined Sarah Starry's team to support her and her daughter Coco. Coco is a congenital heart defect survivor and already at the young age of one, has had two successful surgeries and is thriving thanks to the continual development in this field.
But we can't rest, because heart disease and stroke continue to affect millions of people every year, being the #1 and #5 killers in the US respectively. I am fundraising for people, just like you and me, who want to help make our communities healthier, and to fund projects that may be the next cure for heart disease and stroke.
