Over the last 20 years, severe pregnancy health problems have increased nearly 200% in the U.S.
Click the video below to hear my wife Caitlan's story.
For almost a decade, our family has been dedicated to creating awareness and prevention of PPCM (post-birth heart failure) which Caitlan survived. We have been advocating for better maternal care! Here in Massachusetts, the Legislature, in January of 2023, passed a bill expanding equitable access to maternal postpartum care. Previously in Massachusetts, birthing mothers who were eligible for the state’s Medicaid program (MassHealth) lost coverage 60 days postpartum limiting access to key services, such as care and support for pregnancy-related complications, chronic disease, and behavioral/mental health. The new bill expanded MassHealth postpartum coverage to 12 months, a big win for new moms!
The American Heart Association's Boston Lawyers Have Heart 5k Road Race will take place on June 1, 2023. I am ram raising funds to assist the AHA in its mission to help improve and advocate for better maternal health care.
The AHA has the resources and gravitas to impact change, so I appreciate your consideration and every penny of your support.
