A little over ten years ago, my Father had to have emergency open-heart surgery to address calcification of the aortic valve, which they replaced. They also bypassed a coronary artery. He is now 80 and doing very well – playing golf often and usually scoring his age or less! Last year, my older Brother had a heart attack – one that would normally be massive and cause death. He had complete obstruction of the left anterior circumflex artery, which is the main artery to nourish the heart. He survived this because he has an unusual anatomy where his right and left coronary arteries are the same size so the right one took over to keep him alive. He was stented and is now doing wonderfully!
I joined the Executive Leadership Team to support the American Heart Association and the 2023 Pittsburgh Heart Walk because of my Father and Brother. And for everyone out there with a heart! We all benefit from their trainings, research and advocacy to promote heart health! Please join me in this wonderful and critical cause.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today.
